Spring Workshops and Classes


Step into Spring with a couple classes. Workshops require basic knitting or crochet knowledge.


Intro to Knitting I - $85

2 consecutive TUESDAY classes @ 2.5 hours each, 6:30 - 9:00 PM

Project: Scarf

Dates:

No prerequisite required

As a refresher course or for those new to knitting, this comprehensive class will offer the basics of knitting as well as a general concept of straight knitting. Students will complete a scarf project for this course. Pattern will be provided.

Required materials: Light bulky to bulky weight yarn in light color, 9" length bamboo needles (sizes #10 - #13 recommended), tapestry needle


Hat - $75

Dates:

Prerequisite: Knitting I or basic knitting recommended

As a continuation of Intro to Knitting I or for those interested in learning to knit in the round, students will complete a hat in a ribbing pattern.

Required materials: Bulky weight yarn in light color, #15, 16" and 36" length circular needles, tapestry needle


Monthly Stitch $10 per session

Dates:

Meet as a group once a month to learn a new stitch.  In time students can piece all samples together to make a great knitted quilt.


Felted Bag $65

Date:

Learn to knit in the round with different colors and felt the bag once completed.


Cables and Twist $55

Date:  

Take the basic knit and purl to another level by combining and twisting stitches to make intricate looking textures.


Crochet I Workshop          $55

Date:

Learn the basics of beginning crochet in one class.

Recommended materials:  Medium weight yarn of consistent thickness and color, “G”-“I”  hook


Seamless Sweater Class - $140

4 consecutive Wednesday classes @ 2 hours each,  6:30 – 8:30 PM

Dates:  

Prerequisites:  Basic knitting

Knit a sweater in 4 weeks with no seams.  Following a top-down seamless pattern, students will learn to adapt the pattern for a custom fit and design.


Socks Class - $110

3 consecutive Wednesday classes @ 2 hours each,  6:30 – 8:30 PM

Dates: 

Prerequisites:  Basic knitting

Knitted from top to toe, learn to make a cozy pair of socks.

Recommended materials for class:  Medium weight yarn.

Independent Workshop - $25 per session ($85 for 4 sessions)

Dates:  

Bring a specific project that needs help within a group setting.  Students are required to sign up in advance of class date due to seating maximum of 6.


Lace  Workshop - $55

Date:  

Prerequisite: Beginning to Intermediate Knitting

Master 6 impressive lace stitch patterns in this one-day workshop. The outcome only looks complicated; the process is quite simple once the basics are understood.

Recommended materials for class:  Light to medium weight wool of light color, needle sizes vary depending on selected yarn (#6 - #11 recommended)


Textures Workshop - $55

Dates:  

Prerequisite:  Beginning knitting

Learn a stitch from 6 different stitch pattern categories – twist, slip and lace to name a few.  This is also a great opportunity to learn helpful knitting abbreviations.

Recommended materials for class:  Light to medium weight wool of light color and consistent thickness, 2-3 needle sizes smaller and larger than typically used for yarn.


Private Instruction - $40 per hour

Date/times to be arranged individually


Group Classes

Any of the listed classes may be scheduled for groups of 4 – 6 students at specially arranged dates and times.  Call to schedule.


Policies:

  1. Advance registration and payment in full guarantees class space. 
  2. No refunds for class payment.  Payment may be applied to a future class with 48-hour cancellation.
  3. 10% discount will be given on required class materials only (applies to select classes).
  4. Urban Knitting Studio holds the right to cancel a class due to less than the minimum required attendance of 4.  Students will be notified within 48 hours if class is cancelled and payment may be applied to a future class.
